YOUR OPINION IS NEEDED!
Councilmember Ed P. Reyes encourages you to weigh in on the Albion Park Project. The City of Los Angeles will be submitting a grant application for Prop 84 funding on behalf of the Albion Park Parcel located south of the Downey Recreation Center, 1772 N. Spring St.
The future Albion Park site is the City's first Los Angeles River land purchase that will be used for a public park and as an example for effective water treatment. The Councilmember's vision is to create a neighborhood park that encourages multi-generational interaction, offers recreation, provides a connection to nature, and showcases natural water treatment.
The two concept designs below represent the public's input at various community meetings and presentations. Both concept designs provide for active recreation, river vista points, landscaping, and more. Option A incorporates a soccer/football field and Option B includes a skate plaza and multi-use courts.
We urge you to carefully review the options and pick your top 3 features from either design. Your survey responses will help guide the final concept design contingent on budget restraints. Online comments must be submitted by January 15, 2010. A final park design will be presented to the community on Thursday, January 28, 2010 (6:30PM - 8:30PM) at the Downey Recreation Center.
